Delivery and riders

Hand orders to riders and follow them to the door.

Aiyaar helps you get orders to your customers' doors. Send an order to your own riders or to the Aiyaar rider pool, follow it on a map, and keep track of the cash riders collect for you.

What the customer pays for delivery

The delivery options and charges your online shoppers choose at checkout are set in Online store → Delivery. See Payments and delivery charges.

This page is about getting the order to the customer once it is placed.

Add your own riders

Riders who deliver only for you get their own sign-in for the rider app.

  1. Open Delivery in the dashboard menu (under Sell). On a phone, tap the ☰ button first.
  2. Open the My riders tab and tap Add rider.
  3. Fill in Name, Phone and Password. The rider signs in with this phone number and password.
  4. Choose the Vehicle (bicycle, motorbike, car or on foot) and add the Vehicle number if you like.
  5. Save.

The list shows each rider, their vehicle, whether they are Online or Offline now, and the cash they hold for you.

To stop a rider from signing in or taking jobs, tap the edit button on their row and set Status to Suspended. You can also set a new password there.

Note: You do not need your own riders. You can use the Aiyaar rider pool without adding anyone.

The rider app

Riders use the rider app on their phone's browser. The link is at the top of My riders; tap Copy link and send it to your rider.

In the app, the rider:

  1. Signs in and goes online.
  2. Sees the job, with Directions and a button to call the shop or the customer.
  3. Taps I've picked it up at your shop.
  4. At the door, asks the customer for their 4-digit code, types any cash received, and taps Delivered.

If something goes wrong, the rider can report that they cannot deliver. You then see the delivery as Failed.

Send an order to a rider

  1. Open the order. See Orders, returns and exchanges.
  2. In the Rider card on the side, tap Find a rider.
  3. Choose who delivers:
    • My riders: shows how many of your riders are online.
    • Aiyaar rider pool: approved riders near your shop.
  4. Check the Customer's address. Tap Find to place the pin, or tap the map where the customer is. Aiyaar shows the distance by road.
  5. For My riders: pick a Rider, or leave Any of my riders so the first one to accept takes it. Check the Rider's pay; it starts as the delivery charge on the order.
  6. For the Aiyaar rider pool: Aiyaar shows the price for this distance.
  7. If the customer still owes money, tick Collect … in cash from the customer. The rider collects it and brings the cash to you.
  8. Add a Note for the rider if needed, such as "call before arriving".
  9. Tap Find a rider (or Send to rider if you picked one).

Tip: If no pool rider is online near your shop, the job waits until one comes online.

Follow a delivery

The order's Rider card shows the rider's name and phone (tap to call), the distance, the cost, any Cash to collect and the Customer's code. The customer sees the same code on their order page and gives it to the rider at the door. This proves the right person got the parcel.

Open Delivery to see all deliveries at once:

  • At the top: Finding a rider, Going to pick up, On the way and Delivered today (with today's delivery costs).
  • A live map with your shop, the customers and the riders.
  • A list you can search by delivery or order number, customer or phone, and filter by In progress, Delivered, Failed or Cancelled.

Tap a delivery to see it on the map with its steps: Requested, Rider assigned, Picked up and Delivered.

Cancel a delivery: while Aiyaar is still finding a rider, or the rider is on the way to pick up, tap Cancel delivery. After a failed or cancelled delivery, tap Find another rider on the order.

Cash collected by riders

When a rider collects cash at the door, it shows in the Rider cash tab until they hand it over.

For each rider you see what they Collected, what they Handed over and what they Still holds.

When a rider gives you the cash:

  1. Tap Cash received on their row.
  2. Check the Amount received and add a Note if you like, such as a bKash reference.
  3. Tap Record.

Tip: Check Rider cash at the end of every day so no money is left with a rider.
